Thanks to her mentor, Mrs Rozalija Baricevic from distant USA one student wrote the poem inspired by Hlapic's story.

Mrs Baricevic has introduced us Hlapic, a young shoemaker, and invited us to partake in the The Fairy Tale World of Ivana Brlic Mazuranic as editors for the English version of the web site U svijetu bajki Ivane Brlic Mazuranic.

Famous Croatian cartoonist Krešimir Zimonić promoted his comic book Tales of Long Ago in the City Library of Slavonski Brod, on 16th April. It is particularly interesting that the City Library along with the association Stripforum is one of the publishers of this book.

Funny Side of Hlapić is the name of comedy held on the night of 17th April in café bar Mojster. Silvijo Safundžić Sičo is frontman for the band Digital Hen. He entertained the guests by reciting verses for children and adults accompanied by Matilda Pudić and her guitar.

On Monday, 15th April, on Brlić track 5, the blue star shone, as long time ago in Ivana's novel. In front of the villa of Brlić family, the Lima and Brlićevac Associations in cooperation with the Astronomical Society Gea X, organized the observation of the stars.

The International Conference From the Strange to the Wondrous: 100 Years of The Strange Adventures of Hlapic the Apprentice, started in the Music School on 18th April.

In the City Library, on 15th April, we witnessed the exhibition of never published illustrations for Tales of Long Ago. The author was Božidar Darko Mažuranić, the brother of Ivana Brlić Mažuranić.

The birthday celebration of the Croatian Andersen, Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić started on the 14th of April with a ceremonial opening in the town square named after this famous writer. The opening was in honor of the apprentice Hlapić.
