Calcutta and other parts of
East India).
Thank you for making me learn about the presence of a very very enthralling story by Ivana Brlic Mazuranic that too in my mother tongue (Bengali). I was trully mesmerised after going thru such a story.
This is a little about the story.....
.....In the story, a poor young orphan called Lapitch works as the apprentice for the Scowlers-a mean-mannered shoemaker, and his kind-hearted wife. After Master Scowler blames him for the wrong size of a customer's shoes, Lapitch leaves a note and runs away from home.
Later he is joined by Bundas, the Scowlers' dog, he sets off on a seven-day adventure, during which he meets Gita, a circus performer, and encounters a local thief known as the Black Man.
This is very little part of that great story; all Thanks to Prabal Dasgupta without whom I wouldnt have been able to read it.
